When someone’s life is drastically changing, you don’t get drunk for hours and watch a hockey game that is never ending instead of calling the person at 10 like you promised and then go on to apologize for it being “a change of plans”. You can not use that as an excuse when the change of plans is in your control. When a bus hits you on your way to a friends house and you don’t end up showing up because you are in the hospital getting bones set, that’s a change of plans. When the university that you have attended for two years reduces your out of state grant by $12,000, forcing you to leave the university and reevaluate your future goals, that’s a change of plans. Love and respect should come before a hockey game.
